Shipping

ABP uses only the best carriers to deliver your merchandise, especially our preferred partner, Wine Vault, LLC. All Chicagoland area deliveries can be delivered by our own delivery and/or installation personnel.

Shipping Methods & Delivery Times

Shipping times are based on in-stock items and your selected shipping method. To estimate the arrival date of your order, add the processing time and the shipping time to calculate the total shipping time in business days to receive your items. If an item is not in-stock, additional delivery time will apply based on the products availability and must be added to the total shipping time. If you live within 100 miles of our Niles, IL store, we have a delivery fleet that provides delivery and professional installation. At this time, we only ship within the United States.

Standard Shipping Timetables

*Some brands require additional transit time due to the location of delivery. For a more accurate estimated time of arrival, refer to the shipping date in the shopping cart.

Shipping Method: You may select your own shipping method for most products. Certain items require ABP to select the shipping method and not all options may be available depending on the items in your shopping cart. Free Shipping promotion is only available on Standard Shipping.

Shipping Time: The amount of time in transit for your selected shipping method.

Business Days: Monday through Friday, excluding holidays.

Processing Time: 1-24 Hours. In-Stock orders received prior to 3pm during business days are usually shipped out the same day.

In-Store Pickup

If your ship to zip code is within our local delivery area, in-store pickup will be an available option in the shipping method section of the shopping cart or an option on the shipping information page. Only items marked in-stock are eligible for in-store pickup. An alternate pickup person can be specified on the shipping information page by providing the designated individuals first name, last name, date of birth (must be over 21) and email address and/or phone number. Only the purchaser/designated pickup person can pick up the order. Required information for pickup is the e-mail confirmation and a valid photo ID.

Scheduled Delivery Service

This delivery type is available only M-F during normal business hours and used for heavy and oversized items (large appliances). This service includes delivery to the main entrance or garage (but does not include stairs). This service does not include unpacking, plugging in, installation or debris removal.

White Glove Shipping

This is a special service for large and overweight items. It includes normal delivery plus un-crating, setting your goods in place, and removing the packing material. This service does not include installation of any type or delivery upstairs. It normally takes between 3 and 10 business days for your item to reach you if you select this option. An extra charge will apply to this shipment option (typically $100). Your charges for this service are automatically calculated in the checkout process. The white glove company will contact you directly to arrange for a convenient delivery time. You will experience delays in receiving your goods if the shipping company is unable to reach you to setup delivery. White Glove Service is available only within the 5 current ABP States (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin).

Legal Notice

All alcohol and tobacco products are sold in Illinois and title passes to the buyer in Illinois. By placing the order, you authorize ABP to have the product shipped on your behalf by common carrier for delivery to your selected destination. Under the terms of sale, the common carrier is acting as your agent. Check with your carrier for approved shipments. You may desire to insure your shipment. Delivery of Alcohol Packages

Delivery can only be made to an address where an individual at least 21 years old can sign for the shipment during regular business hours. Products can be shipped to a place of business or residence. We cannot ship to a P.O. Box or APO Boxes.  Purchaser and recipient must be over the age of 21 to purchase alcohol.
For all alcohol orders, an adult 21 years or older must be available to sign for the order.

Warning: Certain states and local governments expressly prohibit the direct importation of alcohol and violation can be punishable as a misdemeanor or felony.

It is ABP’s policy NOT to ship to certain states where direct shipment is recognizably prohibited and therefore, our web site may not let you place an order and orders may be cancelled at any time if you are in such a state.  In the event you believe you have been prohibited from ordering in error, please contact us at support@abetterpour.com.

Please contact your local alcoholic beverage control agency for further information about the laws in your jurisdiction. In addition, other restrictions may apply as some states limit the quantity and type of products that may be shipped to an individual address.

Age Verification

By placing an order, you verify that you and order recipients are at least 21 years of age. At the time of delivery, the order recipient must sign an age verification receipt stating that they are at least 21 years of age and must present a valid driver’s license, military ID, passport or State ID for identification.  Additional state requirements may apply, and ABP reserves to refuse any delivery if the purchaser refuses to comply with the laws of the jurisdiction.

Order Processing

You will be notified by email that we received your order. If the items you ordered are out of stock, we will contact you. If the items you ordered are in stock, we attempt to ship them within 48 hours. Tracking numbers are sent to you by email. Our shipping department works Monday thru Friday 9:00 am to 5:00 pm CST. If you need to change your order, email us at support@abetterpour.com or call 1-855-300-POUR (7687).  Please include the order number. We reserve the right to limit quantities of any item ordered.

Credit Card Charge

When your order is complete and ready for shipment your credit card will be charged. For future orders, your credit card will be charged when we confirm your order.

Shipping

We usually ship within 24 hours from the receipt of your order. If we cannot fulfill your order, we will contact you. We try not to ship product over a weekend. If your order is received and cannot be delivered by Friday, it will be shipped on Monday. Shipments may also be delayed due to weather conditions. Weekend delivery requests may have additional charges. Rules and regulations of common carriers may prevent us from accepting orders for the shipment of alcohol products. All shipments of alcoholic beverages require an adult signature for delivery.

Shipping Containers

Our shipping containers are sized for 1 bottle, 2 bottles, 3 bottles, 6 bottles and 12 bottles. Our system will estimate your shipping charges, if you click on ship or pickup. Actual shipping charges may vary when we consolidate your order. Mixed case fee applied to mixed bottle order(s). Some items require special packaging. We will email or call you with any shipping charge adjustments for your approval.

Store Pickup

You can place an order online for pickup at any Wine Vault 6400 W Touhy Ave. Unit A, Niles, IL 60714. Please allow at least 24 hours for your order to be processed. You will be contacted by the store when your order is ready for pickup.

International Shipping

Our system does not calculate international shipping charges. We will contact you with the shipping charges for your approval. Every country has different taxes, customs and tariffs that you may have to pay. We are not responsible for additional charges that may be added to your order. We advise you to check with the destination country’s local shipping official regarding taxes or custom charges that must be paid before your order is released. Most products on abetterpour.com are zip code restricted. Any order placed outside allowed zip codes will be cancelled.

CCT

The Cook County tax (CCT) on alcohol is based on product type and alcohol by volume (ABV). As an example, the CCT on a 750ML of wine 14% ABV is $.11. Village of Niles 1% Liquor Tax applies to all orders. Applicable sales, liquor, and CCT taxes are combined on your invoice.  Additional taxes levied where necessary.

Some wine and spirit items cannot be replaced if an accident should happen. Insurance is available to most destinations through USPS, UPS and FedEx. Please indicate if you would like your order insured. We will secure the coverage on your behalf. If a package arrives damaged, please contact support@abetterpour.com or call 1-855-300-POUR (7687).

Futures Policy

The minimum order for Wine Futures is 6 bottles per item. You will be notified by e-mail that we received your order. By the next regular business day, you will receive an e-mail confirming available quantities on your order request.

We reserve the right to limit quantities of any item ordered on a Futures request.

When your wine arrives, we will contact you to make arrangements for shipping or pick-up. In the event we are unable to contact you within 90 days of receiving your wine, we reserve the right to dispose of the wine and refund the original price you paid, less a 5% service fee.

Any applicable shipping charges and taxes must be paid before the wine can be released for shipment or for in store pick-up. For shipped orders, if you would like to have the wooden crates, they will be shipped separately via UPS Ground and there will be an additional shipping charge.

Due to the rarity of these wines, we recommend your shipment be insured. Any required taxes and shipping and insurance charges will be assessed at the applicable rate when the wine is released to you.

Futures order cancellation policy
There is no fee if a paid order is cancelled within 30 days. For any Futures order cancelled more than 30 after payment has been made, a 5% service fee will be assessed.

Please note:
– Delivery time frames are approximations. If there are delays, we will do our best to let you know.
– Please note orders under 1lb may be shipped via USPS. Depending upon the product destination delivery time frames will vary.
– ABP does not ship to Post Office (PO) boxes.
– We can ship products weighing 25 lbs or less to APO/FPO/DPO addresses. You must call our shipping department to get a price quote on delivery for this service.
– Orders under 50lb may be shipped via USPS. Delivery time frames will vary.
– Deliveries to remote locations within the US may cause a delay.
– Specific delivery times or dates may be available with certain delivery types. Additional charges may apply.
– Signature required for orders over $500.

Additional charges will be added for freight services if one of the below apply:

– You live on an island with access or limited access via bridges.
– You live in the upper peninsula of Michigan (or anywhere north of Green Bay, WI) or other remote locations throughout the US. (A remote area is an area that extends 50 to 75 miles past a Major Airport City. Examples of Major Airport Cities are, Newark NJ, Salt Lake City, UT, Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL. The presence of an Airport within 50 to 75 miles of a City, does not constitute it being a Major Airport City.)
– You live outside of our local delivery area and you want a specific delivery time or a delivery on a weekend.
